About DCT Audio
I have had an innate passion for all things audible since I can remember. From the beauty of the spoken word, the intimacy of radio and the spontaneity of the podcast.
Born in Manchester, Piccadily Radio was my escape and companion from an unhappy childhood. To this day I remember those heady days of independant radio as some of my happiest memories. It was a surprise then I suppose to pursue a career in professional photography, which took me on travels both in the UK and abroad. After a decade, I became disillusioned with the brittleness of advertising and wanting more I joined the Police. For nearly 30 years I dealt with the highs and lows of human fragility and yet, came across ordinary people that became heros in extra ordinary circumstances.
The skills I learnt as a police officer continue to serve me well to this day. Road policing, later CID and child protection, I interviewed some of the most vulnerable and traumatised human beings. I now bring that experience to conversations I have with people who have interesting and inspiring stories to tell.
And so my first podcast series was launched in 2016 called "Walk the Talk" mainly concentrating on police wellbeing. I later expanded the wellbeing theme with the "Mindful Life" series and continue to do so to this day.
I now showcase other peoples work, which you can find on this site and I present a Thursday evening show on Bay Trust Radio.
